What is the most common robotic arm? The most popular robotic arm is the 6-degree-of-freedom articulated robotic arm, sometimes referred to as an industrial articulated arm or hinge-type manipulator. It is the most extensively used executive device in industrial automation systems and holds a completely dominant position in worldwide industry.
Basic Structure of the 6-Degree-of-Freedom Articulated Robotic Arm
Six rotating joints connect the base, upper arm, forearm, and end effector in series to form its fundamental structure. Its general form closely resembles the kinematic chain of a human arm, and it may be positioned in any three-dimensional position. Because it strikes the ideal mix between motion flexibility, workspace coverage, load adaptability, and system cost, this arrangement has gained popularity. It is frequently used in factories to run a variety of machinery, including electric and small grinders as well as 500KG and 200KG grinders.
Core Components and Motion Characteristics
The 6-degree-of-freedom articulated robotic arm’s spinning joints are outfitted with harmonic reducers and high-precision servo motors, which enable closed-loop control to achieve micron-level repeat positioning accuracy. The end effector can perform intricate tasks like welding, spraying, assembly, handling, palletizing, and inspection because to its kinematic properties, which enable it to move and rotate in any direction. Its trajectory can be carefully regulated within 0.1 millimeters, and it is utilized for continuous welding of body solder joints in the automotive manufacturing industry.
In electronic assembly lines, it can cooperate with visual systems to complete the picking and insertion of micro-components, similar to how a CE Certificate grinder is precisely controlled.
Application Scenarios Across Industries
The 6-degree-of-freedom articulated robotic arm may carry out sterile packaging and sorting duties in a hygienic setting in the food and pharmaceutical industries. It is capable of handling delicate food items including peanuts, seasam, and mushrooms, as well as pharmaceuticals with strict hygienic requirements. Its load capacity is between 0.5 and 1.7 tons, and its operating radius is between 1 and 4 meters. This makes it appropriate for a wide range of industrial requirements, including heavy castings, precision electronics, and even running black pepper or stainless steel herb grinders in food processing.
Advantages Over Other Configurations
Compared with other configurations, the significant advantage of the 6-degree-of-freedom articulated arm lies in its omnidirectional motion capability.
Although Cartesian robotic arms have a simple structure and high positioning accuracy, they are limited by linear guides, with a rectangular cubic workspace and difficulty bypassing obstacles.
Although SCARA robotic arms react rapidly in the horizontal plane, they are inflexible in the vertical direction, which prevents them from changing their spatial posture. In contrast to articulated arms, which can do jobs with a high-speed dry grinder or airflow pulverizer, parallel robotic arms are incredibly quick but have a restricted operating range and struggle to lift big loads.
Flexibility in Complex Work Environments
The articulated robotic arm may execute “detour” tasks through multi-axis cooperation, including avoiding fixtures in small workstations, collecting components from an oblique higher direction, and changing positions between intricately curved surfaces. Because of its adaptability, it is the fundamental component of flexible production systems, particularly in situations requiring accuracy, like running an ultrafine grinder or vacuum mill. Similar to how a dry ginger or licorice grinding machine adjusts to diverse raw materials, it can readily adapt to dynamic production lines, changing its movements in response to changes in workpiece position or task requirements.
Popularity Driven by Standardization of Programming and Integration
The standardization of programming and integration also contributes to its popularity. Pendant programming, offline simulation, and graphical drag-and-drop operations are typically supported by contemporary articulated arms. The threshold for application in a variety of sectors is lowered since engineers can accomplish task deployment without being skilled in underlying kinematics. Integration into digital manufacturing networks is made easier by its interface protocols (such as OPC UA and EtherCAT), which link with standard PLC and MES systems with ease. This standardization is comparable to how food processing machinery, such as dry fruit powder grinders or cryogenic grinders, adheres to industry standards for simple integration.
Modular Design and Adaptability
Its modular design also makes it possible to quickly replace end effectors, such as force-controlled grippers, welding torches, and suction cups. Tool swapping can be finished in a matter of minutes. By allowing the robotic arm to alternate between activities like handling meat, wheat, and maize or running Dust Grinder and Hammer Mill equipment, this significantly increases production line versatility. Its versatility is demonstrated by the fact that it may be modified to process commodities like metal, beans, tobacco, salt, coffee, tea, and sugar.
Collaborative Robotic Arms: An Enhanced Version of Articulated Arms
Collaborative robotic arms are simply improved versions of the 6-degree-of-freedom articulated structure, despite their tremendous growth in recent years due to the need for human-machine coexistence. They do not alter the fundamental articulated structure; instead, they optimize force control, safety sensing, and speed restrictions. Collaborative arms are therefore appropriate for situations with cannabis or chemical materials that call for safe human-machine interaction since they maintain the adaptability and flexibility of conventional articulated arms.
Conclusion: The Irreplaceable Mainstream Robotic Arm
Therefore, the 6-degree-of-freedom articulated robotic arm is always the foundation of industrial automation infrastructure, whether in conventional heavy industry or new intelligent manufacturing scenarios. For the foreseeable future, it will be the most prevalent and indispensable kind of robotic arm in factories around the world because to its advanced ecosystem, cost-effectiveness, and technical maturity. It is frequently employed in conjunction with machinery that drives the automation of numerous industries, such as turbo grinders, vibrating pulverizers, and coarse crushers. This kind of robotic arm is essential in everything from industrial manufacturing to food processing, from heavy-duty handling to precise assembly.
Its ability to balance flexibility, precision, and cost ensures its dominant position, even as technology evolves and new robotic arm types emerge.
Whether operating a cassava grinding machine, Air cooled crusher, or dust collector grinder, the 6-degree-of-freedom articulated robotic arm remains the first choice for industrial automation.
In essence, its widespread adoption is a testament to its ability to meet the diverse needs of modern manufacturing, making it the most common robotic arm in the world today.
Ultrafine grinding is one of the very key procedure in whole production line. It depends how many mesh that customer need to produce. That’s to say this machine can decide what kind of material will get finally before mxing.
